KIO TRENCH

KIO TRENCH is a 900×500 mm Kinext modular cover that can be placed over concrete channels with an internal width of 400 or 800 mm. It can be used in exhibition centres or in service areas, industrial areas, commercial areas, ports or quays. By using a special additive, Polieco is capable of making the rectangular manhole cover even with a class C fire resistance rating (standard EN 13501–1): KIO TRENCH therefore can be installed inside tunnels.

The KIO TRENCH vehicular manhole cover made by Polieco in Kinext, a new generation composite material used for the production of high-strength manhole covers and capable of replacing traditional materials subject to wear, decay and theft.

The KIO TRENCH can be installed both in modular shape (resting on two sides) and single shape (resting on four sides). To ensure its structural strength, the lid features different thicknesses according to whether a modular or single shape is used: it can be placed directly on the support walls of the channel or on an aluminium or steel frame.

The lid is fitted with two lifting slots to allow opening with a specific lever. A locking system can be added on demand that binds the lid to a stainless-steel frame.

The available stiffness classes are 125 kN, 250 kN or 400 kN, tested in accordance with the test method laid down in EN 124-1 and EN 124-5.
