MADE GREEN IN ITALY E CAM

THE CERTIFICATION

Made Green in Italy (MGI) is the national scheme established by the Ministry of Environment and Energy Security (MASE) for assessing and communicating the environmental footprint of products that meet the “Made in Italy” requirements and also comply with “sustainability” parameters based on a national benchmark.
The MGI label is issued in accordance with the “Product Category Rules” (PCR), which define the necessary requirements for conducting environmental footprint assessment studies for a specific product category.
For this assessment, the European PEF (Product Environmental Footprint) methodology is applied, allowing the measurement of the environmental impact of the product at each stage of its lifecycle.

THE MINIMUM ENVIRONMENTAL CRITERIA

In the context of Green Public Procurement (GPP), the Minimum Environmental Criteria (CAM) were introduced to identify the best design solution, product, or service from an environmental perspective throughout its lifecycle, with the aim of reducing environmental impacts and promoting more sustainable production and consumption models.
The MASE Decree of August 5, 2024, adopting the CAM for the assignment of design services and execution of construction, maintenance, and upgrading works for road infrastructure (CAM Roads), has introduced the “Made Green in Italy” label as one of the rewarding criteria for awarding contracts.

THE ENVIRONMENTAL FOOTPRINT OF OUR PRODUCTS

Our ECOPAL and ECOPAL 2.0 piping systems have been the subject of a footprint assessment study according to the PEF methodology. The representative product subject to analysis, asindicated by the RCP,is a system of SN8 corrugatedpolyethylenepipes, with a nominaldiameter of DE250 mm, for non-pressure sewage and drainagein compliance with UNI EN 13476-3; the functionalunit (FU) is “the transport of 100 meters of fluid,” in accordance with the applicable PCR.
The ECOPAL and ECOPAL 2.0 systems scored 1.01E-01 and 1.00E-01 respectively, achieving the Made Green in Italy label with a CLASS B performance, compared to the benchmark.

Date of adherence to the Made Green in Italyscheme: November 28, 2024.
