The KIO class D400 manhole cover is installed on carriageways (including pedestrian roads), driveways and parking areas for all types of road vehicles, as specified in EN 124-1.
The KIO manhole cover used for sewerage distribution networks (net span Ø600 mm) is available in 4 versions – round or square frame, with or without hinge.
All models are fitted with a stainless-steel locking system and an anti-noise gasket made of SBR or EPDM.
A further model combines a floating cast iron frame with a cover made from Kinext™ composite material.
This model, which is mainly used in northern European countries, can be raised and levelled during road asphalting stages, and will always remain at the same level as the road surface.
