As we have seen in the previous article, polyethylene has several advantages over other materials used in construction.<\/p>\n

Here we would like to analyse the characteristics of pipes made of polyethylene<\/a>.<\/p>\n

VERY STRONG RESISTANCE TO AGGRESSION BY WASTEWATER<\/p>\n

The resistance to chemical aggression of polyethylene is well-known. Moreover, this material is not exposed to electrochemical aggressions as it is electrically inert.<\/p>\n

It can therefore be said that the polyethylene pipe<\/a> is not exposed to any aggression from the environment and that it does not release noxious substances in the environment.<\/p>\n

LIGHTWEIGHT<\/p>\n

Plastics are known to have a lower specific weight than the cement, stoneware and cast iron generally used in the production of pipes. The low weight of the double-wall corrugated<\/a><\/strong> polyethylene pipe<\/strong> also facilitates the handling of the product at the construction site; smaller diameters can be easily laid by hand within the excavation, also reducing the time required for the work.<\/p>\n

RESISTANCE TO ABRASION<\/p>\n

Abrasion is a phenomenon that occurs in all types of pipes. It mainly takes place in the lower part of the pipe but localized turbulence may expand it to the entire wall. This is caused by friction, rubbing, rolling, cutting (both by pulling and turbulence) or impact and the harder and more irregular the particle, the more noticeable this phenomenon will be.<\/p>\n

As far as polyethylene is concerned, it can be said that conditions being equal, it better resists to abrasion than other materials.<\/p>\n

GUARANTEED QUALITY OVER TIME<\/p>\n

Resistance to abrasion and chemicals makes polyethylene pipes<\/a> last longer than others on the market.<\/p>\n

This also means less maintenance work, saving the customer money and time.<\/p>\n
